Krypta (Crypt in English), simply put, is a vault or small space used to house dead bodies, generally in the underground in some capacity. The world’s first know crypts were used in Italy, Greece, and South Africa to house the bodies of saints, priests, martyrs, and other ancient Christians. In fact, Machajdik's Krypta has no religious visions. The main idea when composing the piece was to wrap the sound in its own essence in a subtly hypnotic way. In Krypta, the composer uses very simple materials and a simple way of expression, thus trying to create a vibrant and challenging sound palette.
Krypta is dedicated with thanks to Kwartludium. |
