"Orbit" was created for the Young Choreographers of the Hamburg Ballet event in 2020 during the COVID lockdown. Due to the restrictions, it premiered as a video in December. The piece itself is an abstract physical representation of the different landscapes, moods, colours, temperatures and atmospheres of different planets in orbit.

Peter Machajdík's interest in performing arts and in collaborations led him to compose music for ballet, theatre and contemporary dance troupes. In the late 1980s, he worked with Michal Murin and his experimental theatre ensemble Balvan. Early 1990s, he performed with the Swiss dancers / performers Dorothea Rust, Tina Mantel and Bruno Stefanoni, with Dutch dancer Marjolijn Sinke as well as with A dato and Auriga dance companies.

In the last few years Peter has composed music for New Trees Within Me and Black Tomcat, both created for the Banska Bystrica-based Štúdio tanca led by Zuzana Hájková, for Marta Poláková's DAJV Dance Company, and has performed with Petra Fornayová, Jaro Viňarský, and Daniel Raček. His 2014 project AREA with dancer Lucia Kašiarová has been shown in Austria, Germany, Slovakia and the Czech Republic.
Since 2020's, Peter's works have been heard in Kristina Paulin's choreographies such as ORBIT and MARINA for the soloists of the Slovak National Theatre, the Hamburg Ballet and the Skylar Campbell Dance Collective as well as in Genesis for TanZZeiT 2022 at the Theater Greifswald, Germany.
