On the occasion of his 60th birthday in 2021, Peter Machajdík has received a grant that enables him to compose new works for soloists, ensembles and orchestras worldwide. Peter Machajdík's latest works include Sinaia Echoes for flute, vibraphone and piano to be premiered by Trio Contraste on 2 June 2021, Passing Through Nothing to be premiered online by Neo Quartet in April 2021, an audio-track for Norwegian author and dramatist Jon Fosse's work Nokon kjem til å komme under Eduard Kudláč's direction for the Žilina Theatre, and The Essence of Scent for performances in autumn 2021 by violist Ivan Palovič and pianist Jordana Palovičová. Other musical projects to receive their public premieres (postponed owing to Covid-19) include a work for Duo Accosphere, a harp duet for the British Duo Novus, a piece for The Vesta Trio, a sonata for German harpist Antje Gräupner's trio, a concerto for viola and strings, commissioned by Sasha Mirković and his Ensemble Metamorphosis, an ensemble work for Kwartludium, a piece for Sax Ecosse, based in Scotland, a piano quintet for pianist Xenia Jarova & Mucha Quartet, and an octet for ensemble SO36.
Peter Machajdík's piano music for choreographer Kristina Borbelyova's new creation for the soloists of the Slovak National Ballet, as part of a celebration of 100 years of the company's existence, was presented in the historical building of the Slovak National Theatre in Bratislava on 1 March 2020. Another new choreography for the dancers of the Hamburg Ballet with Machajdik's music was supposed to be shown in the Hamburg Opera's Stabile on 20 - 22 March 2020. The event has been due to the coronavirus postponed.
