Recent projects include a work for accordion and symphony orchestra, an organ piece for Carson Cooman, a string quartet for Neo Quartet, a piano duet for Cluster Ensemble, and a concerto for viola and strings, commissioned by Sasha Mirković and Ensemble Metamorphosis.
Upcoming highlights in winter 2018/2019 include the world premiere of the new version of the Double Bayan Concerto at the International Accordion Festival in Przemysl, Poland on 8th of December 2018, and the first performance of Invisible Beings for string orchestra at Slovak Philharmonic in Bratislava on 8th of February 2019.
Harpsichordist Elina Mustonen's ”Birds” are flowing into production. Released on 23rd July 2018, the new CD includes bird inspired music by François Couperin, Jean-Philippe Rameau, William Byrd and first recordings of pieces by Olli Mustonen and Peter Machajdík. The album is available via the Finnish label Fuga. The magnificent painting ”Concerto, partly after Ray Ching” on the lid of Elina Mustonen's beautiful harpsichord by Willem Kroesbergen is by Risto Lammin-Soila.
