The main source of inspiration for the piece was the concept of sustainability, which is a broad political concept in global public discourse and is often understood in terms of three "dimensions" or "pillars": environmental, economic and social.
The global debate on the environmental dimension of sustainability often focuses on prevailing issues. Since the beginning of 2000, climate change, loss of biodiversity, environmental degradation, biogeochemical flows of nitrogen and phosphorus, and pollution, especially plastic pollution, have been the dominant problems.
The modern use of the term "sustainability" began in 1983 at a meeting of the United Nations Commission on Environment and Development, also known as the Brundtland Commission. In the Commission's 1987 report entitled 'Our Common Future' (also known as the Brundtland Report), sustainable development is defined as development that "meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs".
The composition encourages reflection on current environmental problems and a greater sensitivity and a more sensitive approach to the issue of sustainability.
