Beyond The Abyss for string quartet, like most of the author's recent works, is characterised by a moral and humane dimension, rejecting and condemning racist and social intolerance, as well as manifestations of xenophobia and homophobia. Its ideological basis and important source of inspiration is a reaction to the deformation of moral and ethical values, and the decline of decency and tolerance in our time. At the same time, the composition is a kind of invitation to reflect on this decline and, as the title suggests, also a kind of mental transition to a state of overcoming the abysses created by these declines.
