Behind the Waves for viola and string orchestra was composed in 2016 on the initiative of the viola virtuoso Saša Mirković, who premiered the work along with his Ensemble Metamorphosis in Belgrade, Serbia on 30 November 2016.
There are waves in front of us, high and opaque. There are waves behind us, waves that we once overcame. And there are also waves between ourselves, between our deeds, thoughts and decisions. Getting through these waves can help to start a new epoch of life.
